EGGHEADS Hosts the First National Tax Practitioners Secondary School Competition

Eggheads International School was selected as the most of the maiden edition of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria Quiz Competition 2021. CITN, which is the national body of tax professionals in Nigeria, agreed at their 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Port Harcourt to sponsor a quiz competition. To realize the deal, the Director of Eggheads International School, Professor Ezekiel Edem Williams put his weight behind it and the competition eventually commenced nationally online in November, 2020.

To get to the final stage, the students scaled through three stages online. Eventually, the last twenty students made the final list. To appreciate the Director of Eggheads International School for his invaluable contribution to the birth of the competition, the leadership of CITN chose Eggheads International School as the host of the maiden edition of the CITN Tax Quiz Competition.

The final of the competition took place on Saturday, 23^rd January, 2021 amidst, pomp and pageantry. The executive members of CITN were on ground and the finalists and officials of their schools were also around. In fact, Eggheads International School was a beehive on activities on that day.

It should be recalled that prior to that day, the twenty finalists, in the company of CITN members, paid a courtesy visit to Rivers State Government House. They also granted interviews to press men on their participation in the competition and their expectation for the final. These interviews were replayed for the teeming audience that came to witness the final of the twenty finalists, Eggheads International School had two in the persons of Miss Ibukunoluwa Ige and Miss Doris Onyemachi.

At the end of the competition, a students of Arch Deacon Brown Educational Centre (ABEC) emerged winner while Doris Onyemachi of Eggheads International School, Port Harcourt was the first runner-up. All the finalists had consolation prizes while the three that made the podium finish had special prizes.

In his closing remarks, the Director of Eggheads International School expressed his happiness for the success of the competition and for the fact that his school also had a podium finish in the competition. He recognized that as a result of hardwork on the part of the participating students and their coaches.
